On September 5, 2024, the China Insurance Automobile Safety Index (C-IASI) released the first results of its 2024 model evaluations. The HYPTEC HT, with its outstanding safety performance, earned the highest G+ rating in the three core categories: Vehicle Occupant Safety Index, Pedestrian Safety Index, and Vehicle Assistant Safety Index. This achievement makes it the first “G+G+G+” model in the development history of CIRI.

On April 29, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Clean Automotive Power and Energy Application Technology was held at the GAC R&D Center. As a provincial key laboratory for technological research, it aims to achieve breakthroughs in critical technologies including high-efficiency engine, clean fuel design and combustion control, automotive fuel cell and hydrogen storage, and carbon-neutral fuel power systems and control. These advancements will contribute to the development of core carbon reduction technologies and support the strategic goals of energy conservation and emission reduction.

On April 3, 2024, the winners of the prestigious 2024 German Red Dot Design Award were officially announced. HYPTEC SSR won the Design Award for its exceptional electrification design.

On February 28, 2024, the iF Design Award, one of the world’s top three design awards, officially announced the list of 2024 winners. HYPTEC SSR won the 2024 German iF Design Award.

On January 19, 2024, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council awarded the title of “National Excellent Engineer Team” to the GAC Powertrain Independent R&D Team.

On December 22, 2023, GAC Group’s patent project, “Development and Application of Adaptive V2X Warning Algorithm Technology with Multi-Source Integration,” won the Gold Prize at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area High-value Patent Portfolio Competition 2023.

On December 15, 2023, the GAC R&D Center X Lab Autonomous Driving Laboratory was recognized as one of the “Top Scientific Research Institutions in Guangdong for Artificial Intelligence in 2023.” In addition, the project titled “Artificial Intelligence-based Autonomous Driving Technology Development” was named one of the “Top Application Projects for Artificial Intelligence in Guangdong for 2023.”

The ceremony for CMF Design Award 2023, considered as Global CMF Industry Hall of Honor, was held in Shenzhen on December 14, 2023. GAC R&D Center won three awards: the CMF Gold Award for HYPTEC SSR, the Design Award for HYPTEC GT, and the Best Pattern Award for M8 MASTER.

On November 3, 2023, GAC Group was awarded the “On-board Encryption Algorithm Certification (Vehicle Class) Product Certification Certificate” by CATARC Huangcheng Certification (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.

In November 2023, the National Development and Reform Commission announced that the GAC Group’s National-certified Enterprise Technology Center, with the GAC R&D Center as its core, was rated “Excellent”  with a score of 95.5, ranking among the top of the automotive industry. This evaluation is a strong affirmation of GAC Group's scientific and technological innovations. It is also an important reflection of its comprehensive strength in independent research and development.

The 2023 China SAE S&T Award ceremony was held in Beijing on October 25, 2023. The project titled “Key Technology and Application of Collision Safety Design for New Energy Vehicles,” led by GAC Group and jointly developed by Tsinghua University and AION, won the Second Prize in the S&T Progress Award category.

On October 13, 2023, GAC Group’s project titled “Technology and Product Development of Efficient, Clean, and Low-Noise Hybrid-exclusive Gasoline Engine Platform” won the Second Prize in the Technical Invention Award category at the 2023 China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards.

On October 13, 2023, GAC Group’s project titled “Key Technology and Application of Series-Parallel Hybrid Transmission System for Passenger Vehicles” won the First Prize in the Technical Invention Award category at the 2023 China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards.

On September 21, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Automotive Electrical & Electronic Architecture took place at GAC R&D Center. As a foundational innovation platform, the laboratory will collaborate with vehicle enterprises, strategic partners, and research institutes to advance research on cutting-edge electronic and electrical architectures, with focus on network architecture, electrical architecture, functional architecture, and software architecture.

In July 2023, the GAC R&D CENTER ranked first in the world's motion trajectory forecasting list for the Argoverse 2 Motion Challenge, leveraging its self-developed framework, XPredFormer.

On May 16, 2023, the China SAE S&T Award, considered the highest honor in China's automotive industry and the automotive Oscars of China's science and technology sector, was held in Beijing. The project titled “Key Technology of Lightweight Steel-Aluminum Body R&D and Manufacturing for Electric Vehicles,” led by GAC Group and jointly developed by AION and Dalian University of Technology, won the second prize in the Science and Technology Progress Award category.

On April 17, 2023, GAC Group's AION Y automobile design patent won the 24th China Patent Award China Design Gold Award.

On March 27, 2023, the Julang hybrid GMC 2.0 equipped by GAC Trumpchi Shadow Cool stood out from many advanced products with its leading product architecture and high-level performance, winning the title of "World's Top 10 Hybrid Systems".

On December 23, 2022, GAC Research Institute was successfully selected as the "2022 Forbes China Top 10 Intelligent Industrial Design Enterprises", becoming the only automotive enterprise to receive this honor.

On November 20th, the 2022 China Automotive Safety Conference officially released the selection results of "China's Top 10 Chassis", and GAC Trumpchi Film Cool's "Juxing Chassis" was awarded the title of "China's Top 10 Chassis".

On November 16, 2022, GAC 2.0ATK+GMC 2.0 Julang hybrid system won the title of "China Heart" Top 10 Engines and Hybrid Systems in 2022 due to its five major advantages of high quality, low fuel consumption, strong power, quieter, and ultra smoothness.

On November 8, 2022, the results of the 2022 China Top 10 Car Bodies Selection jointly organized by China Automotive Technology Research Center and China Steel Research Technology Group Co., Ltd. were announced. GAC Trumpchi Yingku stood out from many car models with its outstanding body structure and advanced manufacturing technology, winning two awards: "China Top 10 Car Bodies" and "Best Technology Award".

On August 12, 2022, after being certified by China Automotive Research Huacheng Certification (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., the highest thermal efficiency of the GAC 2.0ATK hybrid engine laboratory reached 44.14%, setting a new record for the highest thermal efficiency certification of Chinese brand engines.
