On August 8, Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as HMCI), Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as GAC), and Shanghai Xindazhou Culture Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SSC) signed a joint venture contract to speed up the development of medium- and large-displacement motorcycle business. After obtaining approval from authorities, GAC and SSC will invest in Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd, once wholly owned by HMCI, with GAC owning 24.5% equity, and HMCI and SSC owning 51% and 24.5%, respectively. The equity investment is expected to be completed in 2024.

 

GAC and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. jointly established Wuyang-Honda Motors (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. in July 1992. As of June 2024, Wuyang-Honda Motors has provided 20 million quality motorcycles to customers, gaining positive reviews from customers in China and beyond.

 

As consumers' demand for motorcycles diversifies and personalizes, medium- and large-displacement motorcycles with mainly recreational and leisure functions are witnessing a larger market share. In light of the trend, HMCI, GAC and SSC will further deepen their cooperation and build a new business structure to meet consumer needs. The companies will further scale up business and improve customer satisfaction for the sustainable development of motorcycle business.

 

Wuyang-Honda released a new brand slogan “Wings for your Dreams” in 2024 to outline its development strategy of integrating the two-wing development strategy of factory wings and network wings. Wuyang-Honda will provide more “two-wheeled vehicles” (fuel/electric) to the Chinese consumers for a more convenient life, spread the wonder of dreams and joy, and provide satisfactory products and services to users
