GAC’s photovoltaic (PV) application has reached a new level! Recently, GAC Parts and Components Guangzhou Industrial Park Co., Ltd. signed an energy management contract on a distributed PV project with Guangzhou Development Group New Energy Co., Ltd., and obtained a project filing certificate. The project is now under construction. Since 2008, GAC’s subsidiaries have been actively engaged in PV generation. By the end of 2021, 680,000 m² of PV generation equipment entered into use, with an annual energy output of 65.70 million kilowatt-hours, cumulative power generation of over 280 million kilowatt-hours, and CO₂ emission reduction of about 174,000 tons.

It is understood that GAC Parts and Components Guangzhou Industrial Park’s distributed PV project involves a workshop roof area that covers approximately 60,000 m². The planned installed capacity is 6.34 megawatts, with “self-generated electricity for self-use and surplus electricity for grid-connection”. The average annual power generation is about 5.8 million kWh, accounting for about 29% of the power consumed in GAC Parts and Components Guangzhou Industrial Park. The construction of this project will be completed as scheduled in September this year. After going into operation, it is expected to save 2,320 tons of coal annually, while a significant effect will be achieved in energy-saving and emission reduction with 5,782.6 tons of CO₂ emissions and 174 tons of sulfur dioxide reduced annually.
