On November 15, the 22nd Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as Auto Guangzhou) was grandly opened. GAC debuted five all-new models from its five vehicle brands, including three proprietary brands. The exhibited vehicles covered all segments including BEV, REEV and PHEV, bringing customers more diversified choices. GAC also released the three-year "Panyu Action" which specified four actions and five guarantees, aiming to achieve 60% of sales contributed by proprietary brands and strive to sell two million units of proprietary brands by 2027.

Four reform actions to enhance core competitiveness of proprietary brands

The penetration rate of new energy vehicles in China's auto market has exceeded 50% for three consecutive months. Proprietary brands have emerged as the new leaders in the domestic auto market, leading to fundamental changes in product structure and market players. The competition of new energy vehicles has now entered its second half featured by intelligence, in which automotive enterprises are facing a fresh starting point. To cope with this new challenge, GAC officially released the three-year "Panyu Action" at Auto Guangzhou. According to the action plan, it is expected to establish a "new GAC" through four reform actions of leading brands, key products, cutting-edge technologies and international market development on the basis of maintaining the current leading position in quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

Given the automotive brands and products are becoming more and more homogenous, GAC will rebuild the unique brand characteristics of each proprietary brand while holding up to their shared commitment to "premium quality". GAC Motor prioritizes the features of mainstream, elegance, premium quality; AION represents state-of-the-art technologies, trendiness and premium quality; HYPTEC is established as a synonym for technology, luxury and classy. GAC will also uphold the brand core of detailing and greatness, and provide more assured, worry-free, comfortable and services with customer-centered concept.

As the new energy market is undergoing new structural changes, this year has witnessed a more diversified needs and rapid growth of new energy vehicles including PHEV and REEV. Recognizing the significance of product, GAC’s proprietary brands will launch 22 new models over the next three years, of which seven will be introduced in 2025. These models will cover mainstream forms of new energy power such as BEV, REEV and PHEV to cater to different customer preferences. GAC Motor’s upcoming mid-to-high-level SUVs, MPVs and sedans will be all equipped with Huawei's advanced intelligent driving technology as part of their deepening collaboration. The flagship models of AION and HYPTEC will incorporate GAC’s extended range technology to achieve industry-leading range and comprehensive energy consumption.

Facing the “four new trends”, GAC has already invested over 50 billion RMB on independent research and development to fulfill its commitment to building a technological GAC. In the field of new energy, the industry-leading magazine batteries, super-fast charging and Quark electric motor technology have been mass-produced, and all-solid-state battery technology is expected to be equipped on vehicles in 2026. Furthermore, AION has launched four models with advanced intelligent driving this year, incorporating advanced intelligent driving and large model technology into models at the price level of 150,000 RMB to offer a more intelligent experience.

The third generation X-Soul EEA3.0 will serve as the foundation for GAC to quickly introduce end-to-end intelligent driving technologies based on generative AI and vehicle-cloud-integrated large model multi-mode interactive system. By 2025, GAC aims to remain as a pacesetter in intelligent driving of products and technology. By 2027, GAC targets to become one of the global top players in intelligent driving technology.

In terms of the international market, GAC has established its presence in nearly 70 countries and regions worldwide. This year, the production has commenced in plants located in Malaysia and Thailand, marking a new phase of internationalization with CBU and local production operating in parallel. By 2027, GAC aims to penetrate into 100 countries and regions across the globe and strive to export 500,000 vehicles, providing richer product experiences to customers worldwide.

Five guarantees to ensure greater and stronger proprietary brands

The ongoing competition reshaping and structure changes in automotive market drive automakers to deepen reform. To implement the four reform actions and achieve the goals of the three-year "Panyu Action", GAC is speeding up its effort on integrated organization, integrated product development process, market-oriented system, high-level talents, and abundant capital so as to build greater and stronger proprietary brands.

GAC always possesses the determination and experience to drive reform. Starting with the relocation and a shift of efforts towards the frontline, the management mode of headquarters of GAC will transform from strategic control to operational control. The Group will integrate the operation of proprietary brands to realize the coordination among R&D, production, supply and sales. In the past, as a pioneer in professional manager reform and employee stock options, the Group also successfully incubated unicorns such as ONTIME, Greater Bay Technology and SYNCORE AUTOTECH etc. Moving forward, GAC will actively promote a second round of mixed-ownership reform at the group level to build a more market-oriented and competitive automobile group.

The automotive industry is currently in a critical period of transformation to intelligent connected new energy vehicles. GAC has taken the initiative to embrace this trend, with its vehicle brands launching impressive models to capture a larger market share.

As a key player in GAC's proprietary brands, GAC Motor showcased its new platform and new products at Auto Guangzhou. The EV+ new energy platform boasted several features, including compatibility for both extended range and plug-in hybrid modes, both in-house and jointly-developed intelligent driving system, as well as focus on both driving experience and safety etc. GAC Motor S7, the automaker’s the first model equipped with advanced intelligent driving, made its global debut and was called "a most stylish side profile" by netizens. The "1Concept" concept car also was unveiled at the auto show as a groundbreaking joint innovation between GAC Motor and Huawei, defining a new style of future mobility. In 2025, GAC Motor plans to launch four models with advanced intelligent driving, a promising start to a year of breakthrough in comprehensive intelligent driving.

AION UT was debuted as the third global strategic model of the brand. As the brand spokesman Guo Qilin praised, “the AION UT is more gorgeous, more comfortable, smarter, safer, with everything needed on board”. Built with global standards, the AION UT is a A-class hatchback at price level of 100,000 RMB. It is designed for customers who desire high-quality and fashionable battery sedans, providing enhanced styling, comfort, intelligence, and safety.

The global debut of HYPTEC HL, the first luxurious and intelligent SUV of brand, fully demonstrated transformation and innovation of “believe in and reconstruct luxury”. This model adopted a styling of “yacht on land”. The BEV version has a range of 750 km and the REEV version possesses a mixed range of 1,200 km. The car was equipped with the ADiGO Pilot NDA4.0 for advanced intelligent driving, which enable to pass the toll stations automatically and drive freely from highway to urban areas. Pre-orders will begin in February of 2025.

The joint venture GAC Honda unveiled its new electrification system at Auto Guangzhou. 烨P7, the first model of the 烨P brand, made its debut. Architecture W was also released as the new generation of intelligent and efficient pure electric exclusive platform. In the next three years, more than three models including medium and high-end sedans and large SUVs will be developed on this platform to cater to the customer needs in various scenarios, thus to enable dual energy mode and provide an equally enjoyable experience for both ICE and NEV.

At its 20th anniversary, GAC Toyota officially kicked off the "Transformative 2030" initiative and embarked on the journey to "all-round self-reliance". During Auto Guangzhou, GAC Toyota unveiled Bz3X, an intelligent pure electric SUV that offered customers end-to-end advanced intelligent driving experience at a L2++ level.
